Junior quarterback Drew Hare took home the award for MAC West Division Player of the Week after his play in a 49-21 blowout over Eastern Michigan.

Hare threw for 267 yards on 24-38 passing, throwing four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran for 19 yards. It was the second time this season Hare has thrown for four touchdowns and the fourth time he’s thrown for at least 260 yards.

It’s the second MAC West Player of the Week honor he’s earned this season — he also won the award after a performance against Ball State in week six of the season.

The Huskies’ quarterback threw touchdowns to four different receivers against Eastern Michigan including senior Tommylee Lewis, junior Kenny Golladay, senior Juwan Brescacin and redshirt sophomore Shane Wimann. His longest play of the day came on a 39-yard pass to Lewis in the third quarter.

Hare has completed over 64 percent of his passes this season, throwing for more than 1800 yards with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions. He has a passer rating of 142.02 and has been sacked 14 times.

Hare and NIU will move on and face off against Toledo (7-0, 4-0 MAC) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Toledo, Ohio on ESPN2.
