Panel discussion brings Hunger Action Month to close

A panel discussion about hunger need will be held as a part of Hunger Action Month on Wednesday. 

The discussion, Think Global. Act Local: Hunger Action Month, will be presented by NIU and the Northern Illinois Food Bank to present 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Wirtz Hall Auditorium. Panelists will discuss the scope of hunger need and facts about hunger locally and worldwide, according to a Student Involvement and Leadership Development news release.

Panel members include Melissa Burlingame, outreach and communications coordinator, Julie Yurko, Northern Illinois Food Bank CEO and president, Tom Duffey, Feed My Starving Children development advisor and Dan Kenney, DeKalb County Community Gardens executive director.

The discussion will be moderated by geography professor Courtney Gallaher.
