A local person is advertising a protest of a roadside safety check being conducted by police for St. Patrick’s Day via Reddit.

User OpenYourMind posted about the protest Monday on the NIU subreddit, encouraging people to join in the protest. Protesters will warn drivers of the checkpoint as they approach it, according to the post. The user who made the post about the protest did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

During the checkpoint, officers will look for drunken or impaired drivers, drivers with a suspended or revoked license, people transporting open alcoholic drinks or those operating their vehicle in an unsafe manner, according to a state police news release.
