Freshman A’Iesha Irvin-Muhammad has been a standout for track and field this season. She qualified for the MAC Indoor Championships in her second meet of her career, the Illini Classic on Jan. 18.

The Huskies swept the MAC track and field weekly awards for the first time in program history Wednesday.

Senior thrower Sidra Sherrill was named MAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and sophomore sprinter A’Iesha Irvin-Muhammad earned MAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors for their performances over the weekend.

During the Huskies’ first outdoor competition this weekend at the Billiken Kickoff in St. Louis, Sherrill won the discus throw at 46.47 meters. Irvin-Muhammad won the 100-meter dash (11.99 seconds) the 200-meter dash (24.71 seconds) and was part of the 4-by-100-meter relay team that took first place (45.95 seconds).
