Track and field accrued 62.25 points as it finished in sixth place out of 12 teams over the weekend at the EIU Big Blue Classic in Charleston.

The Huskies finished fourth out of eight Illinois teams that participated. NIU was the lone MAC school in the meet.

Sophomore sprinter A’Iesha Irvin-Muhammad took second place in the 100-meter dash with a personal record time of 11.7 seconds. Her time earned her an automatic qualification for the MAC Outdoor Championships, bringing the Huskies’ number of automatic qualifiers to nine.

The lone first-place finish for NIU was in the four-by-400-meter relay. The team of Ashanti Hutton, Irvin-Muhammad, Latesha Bigby and Julianne Cronin won in 3:47.22.
