Lucky Boys Confusion returns to Rosy’s Friday

Pop-punk band Lucky Boys Confusion is set to make its second Rosy’s appearance Friday.

The band performs 9 p.m. Friday at Rosy’s Roadhouse, 930 Pappas Drive. Lucky Boys Confusion made its Rosy’s debut in September, shortly after the venue opened. The group has been coming to DeKalb since 1997. Rosy’s co-owner Joe Chavez has been friends with the band members for years.

“They wanted to come back and rebuild their fan base that they used to have out here,” Chavez said.

Chavez worked with the band and arranged for them to come back and perform.

This will be the band’s second performance in DeKalb since guitarist Joe Sell died in May 2012.

“We just know that this is what he would have wanted us to do—to carry on and keep playing the music he helped create,” said lead singer Kaustubh Pandav.

Lucky Boys Confusion is known for high-energy music with a funky twist. While they are not going to preview any new music, Pandav said a big announcement is coming soon.

Opening act Last Night In Leeds is a pop-punk group composed of NIU students and alumni. The group has been together for a year and a half. Through Kickstand Productions, Last Night in Leeds members were able to become involved in the show.

“This is probably going to be one of the biggest shows we’ve played, so it’s a big deal for us,” said guitarist Connor Erickson.
