A woman fell to her death in an apparent suicide at the Parking Deck on Carroll Avenue Friday afternoon.

The woman was confirmed to have died at about 3:17 p.m. at Kishwaukee Hospital. Emergency personnel provided CPR at the site of the fall and transported the woman via ambulance to the hospital.

NIU spokesman Paul Palian confirmed the woman was not a student nor an NIU employee. The family asked that the woman’s name not be released to the public, he said.

“On behalf of the university, we extend our condolences to the family and our DeKalb community,” Palian said in an email.
