By Northern Star Staff

In a low-scoring match, women’s soccer fell to the Loyola Ramblers, 1-0.

In a game where there weren’t many scoring chances, the Ramblers converted in the 65th minute when Samantha Gage hit a shot that hit the crossbar and went in the net.

The Huskies (2-5-1) had just three shots all game, just one in the second half. Loyola had 11 shots in the match and forced six saves out of NIU senior goalkeeper Amy Carr.

This is NIU’s fourth loss in its last five games.

The Huskies now turn to conference action starting at 2 p.m. Friday when they take on Eastern Michigan. Play continues at noon Sunday when NIU heads to Central Michigan.
