Police Reports: Aug. 27-29

Aug. 27

• At 11:42 a.m., an officer was sent to the Grant Towers North outside patio for a report of pot. The officer determined the report to be unfounded.

• At 11:52 a.m., an officer was sent to the New Residence Hall community center for a report of identity theft. The officer met with the person in question and the officer was provided with false information concerning the person’s identity. The case is open pending further investigation.

Wednesday

• At 7:10 p.m. Aug. 18, an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report of burglary to a car. On Aug. 28, the case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 12:07 a.m., an officer was sent to Stevenson Towers South for a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 12:07 a.m., an officer on patrol of Annie Glidden Road and Stadium Drive made contact with a person in regard to criminal damage. The person was younger than 21 and intoxicated. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for criminal damage to state supported property and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 3:02 a.m., an officer was sent to the NIU parking deck for a report of criminal defacement. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 9:15 a.m., an officer spoke with a complainant in Lot 26D for a report of disorderly conduct. The officer took a report and the case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 12:18 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune North for a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The officer determined the report unfounded.

• At 4:58 p.m., an officer was sent to Gabel Hall for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 6:21 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune North for a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 7:30 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune Central for a report of pot. The officer investigated and determined the report unfounded.

• At 7;53 p.m., an officer was sent to the Recreation Center for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 11:45 p.m., a community adviser at Grant Towers North spoke with people who were younger than 21 and who were drinking alcohol. They were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 11:45 a.m., community advisers at Grant Towers North found damage to property and reported it to the complex coordinator.

Thursday

• At 8:48 a.m., an officer was sent to the Recreation Center for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

Friday

• At 2:06 a.m., an officer on patrol of the 900 block of Lucinda Ave. spoke with a person who was younger than 21 and intoxicated and in possession of pot. George P. Albert, 20, of Plainfield, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of cannabis. Albert was processed at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

• At 2:48 a.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department for a report of criminal sexual assault. The incident was reported to have occurred in the DeKalb city jurisdiction and was referred to the DeKalb police department.

• At 5:03 a.m., an officer on patrol of the New Residence Hall spoke with a person who was younger than 21 and intoxicated. The person was given a verbal warning for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 10:38 a.m., an officer was sent to the New Residence Hall community center for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 12:05 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department for a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant, took a report and determined the incident to be within DeKalb city jurisdiction. The case was referred to the DeKalb police department.
