The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday

At 12:41 a.m., a DeKalb police officer observed a white vehicle tailgating another vehicle. The white vehicle had a rear registration light out. The white vehicle passed the vehicle it was following and appeared to be going over the speed limit. The white vehicle then changed lanes without signaling. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Lincoln Highway. The officer approached the vehicle and observed a 2-year-old sitting on the lap of a rear passenger with the sear belt around it. The driver, Ronnesha Wilson, 23, of DeKalb, said she didn’t have a valid driver’s license but said she was going to get one. Wilson was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Department. The children were secured in a safety seat and the vehicle was released to a valid driver. Wilson was unable to post bond and was later taken to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
