At 9:12 a.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol observed a driver of a brown vehicle not wearing his seat belt. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Christopher E. Little, 25, of DeKalb, was found having a suspended license. Little was arrested, taken to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on individual bond.

At 9:46 a.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol in the 800 block of Ridge Road observed a black Chrysler approach a stop sign at the intersection of Ridge Drive and Normal Road. The driver initiated her right turn signal but did not stop the vehicle until it was completely over the stop line and into the intersection. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Ana E. Lazaro, 25, of DeKalb, said she stopped late because her child in the back seat distracted her. Lazaro was charged with driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign. The officer allowed a valid driver to pick up the car and the child. Lazaro was arrested, taken to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
