City blotter for 2/9/12

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Monday
At 7:01 p.m., a DeKalb police officer observed a vehicle in the 100 block of North First Street. The officer checked the registration of the vehicle and learned that the registration was expired since April 2011, but the vehicle had a registration sticker showing 2012. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled into the Castle Bank parking lot. The driver, David J. Gong, 22, of DeKalb, was charged with improper use of registration and expired registration. Gong was arrested and later released on bond.
At 10:11 p.m., a DeKalb police officer observed a vehicle with a tail light out. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 900 block of Lucinda Avenue and found the driver, Michael D. Anderson, 24, of DeKalb, had a suspended driver’s license and was wanted on a failure to appear warrant. Anderson was arrested, transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
Tuesday
At 8:30 p.m., the DeKalb police received a 911 hang-up call. After calling back the number multiple times, they discovered the location of the incident. Upon arrival, DeKalb police spoke with the caller, Shannah E. Mustafa-Parker, 24, of DeKalb. Mustafa-Parker said she and her boyfriend had an argument because he wanted her to take him somewhere but she refused and then the boyfriend left. The police were unable to make contact with the boyfriend. However, police learned Mustafa-Parker had a failure to appear warrant out of DeKalb County. Mustafa-Parker taken into custody, transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond with a court date.
