Wednesday

At 12:11 a.m., a DeKalb police officer observed a purple Honda change lanes and accelerate past the vehicle in front of him. The vehicle approached the intersection of East Lincoln Highway and Seventh Street in the turn lane. The vehicle turned without using a turn signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Seventh Street. The driver, Emilio Marquez-Arguelles, 19, of DeKalb, said he did not have a driver’s license. After confirming the information, the officer arrested Marquez-Arguelles. Marquez-Arguelles was taken to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
