City blotter for 11/04/11

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday

  • At 5:22 a.m., DeKalb Police were investigating an incident in the 800 block of Greenbrier Road when they came into contact with Ricco M. Campbell, 19, of DeKalb. Officers confirmed Campbell had an active failure to appear traffic warrant. Campbell was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
  • At 9:40 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a speeding vehicle in the 300 block of E. Fairview Road. The officer performed a traffic stop and learned the driver, Araceli Carrillo-Martinez, 37, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. Carrillo-Martinez was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. She was later released on bond.
  • At 9:14 p.m., DeKalb Police received calls about numerous subjects fighting in the parking lot of a residence in the 800 block of Fotis Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned several subjects had driven away and three vehicles had been damaged during the altercation. One man, Tremaine Purches, 21, of Chicago, was identified as a subject who damaged the vehicles. Purches was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.
  • At 10:46 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Herschel Bell, 29, of DeKalb, at Kishwaukee Community College. Bell was wanted on a failure to appear warrant from Boone County. Bell was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail pending bond.

Thursday

  • A complainant called the DeKalb Police Department on Nov. 2 to report her ex-boyfriend, Reginald T. Turner, 38, of DeKalb, was in possession of her vehicle and would not return it. The officer checked Turner’s information and learned he had a revoked driver’s license. At 4:25 a.m. Nov. 3, the officer observed the caller’s vehicle in the 400 block of N. Seventh Street. The officer performed a traffic stop and found Turner was driving the vehicle. Turner was arrested for driving with a revoked license. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
