Thursday

• At 11:12 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle driving slowly in the 900 block of South Annie Glidden Road. The officer noticed the passenger in the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt. The officer performed a traffic stop and noticed two small children in the back seat of the vehicle who were not in child seats. A 7-year-old girl was observed wearing her seatbelt, and a 5-year-old boy was unrestrained in the back seat. The officer found the driver, Albert D. Owens, 65, of Chicago, has had a suspended driver’s license since 1986. Owens was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond. The passenger, Denise Killingsworth, 64, of Chicago, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt and released.
