City Blotter for 10/31/11

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday

At 10:02 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt in the 700 block of N. Annie Glidden Road. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Megariel R. Moreno, 22, of Aurora, had an active warrant for his arrest. Moreno was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.

At 11:54 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle turn without signaling in the 1000 block of Blackhawk Road. The officer performed a traffic stop and found two passengers in the vehicle, Ralpheal D. Fox, 20, of Chicago, and Shakima S. Willingham, 19, of DeKalb, had active warrants for their arrest. Fox and Willingham were arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. They were later released on bond. The driver was released at the scene.

Saturday

At 12:04 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 900 block of N. Annie Glidden Road with no rear registration light. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Corey C. Turner, 20, of Chicago, did not have a valid driver’s license. A search of the vehicle revealed an open container of alcohol under the passenger seat. Turner was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.

At 12:46 a.m., a DeKalb Police officer was passed by a vehicle with its high beams on. The officer performed a traffic stop and noticed the smell of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver, Joshua C. Williams, 18, of DeKalb, passed a field sobriety test. A search of the vehicle revealed a half-empty bottle of tequila in the vehicle’s glove box and two empty cups smelling of alcohol under the driver’s seat. Williams was also found to be wanted on a warrant for probation violation from Cook County. Williams was arrested and transported to DeKalb County Jail.

At 3:16 a.m., DeKalb Police responded to a residence in the 900 block of Edgebrook Drive. The caller told police he had been stabbed with a sword by a man wearing a white costume. Upon arrival, officers located the man, Kyle P. Keegan, 29, of DeKalb. Keegan was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
