Shots fired on Edgebrook Drive Sunday morning

DeKALB | According to police reports, DeKalb Police responded to a report of shots fired early Sunday.

DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said the incident occurred around 1:29 a.m. during a large party in the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive. Police patrolling near Edgebrook Drive heard the gunshots and spoke to witnesses in the area, he said.

Spangler said two shell casings were recovered from the scene, but there were no suspect descriptions given by witnesses.

“It was a chaotic scene,” he said. “It was hard to find people who were willing to get involved.”

This is the second report of gunfire near Edgebrook Drive reported over the weekend. According to police reports, at 3:04 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1200 block of Blackhawk Road. Reports state a witness heard a loud argument on the west side of the road, near the intersection of Blackhawk Road and Edgebrook Drive. The witness said he saw a black male wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black hat fire a weapon in the direction of two vehicles that left the scene heading southbound on Blackhawk Road.

No arrests or injuries were reported in either incident.
