Campus crime blotter for 12/2/10

June 7

  • At 7:56 p.m., a student reported the theft and fraudulent use of his debit card. The card was contained and left in his wallet on the sidelines while he was playing basketball at the Recreation Center. After investigation, the money was discovered credited back to his account so no complaint was filed. This case is cleared for refusal to cooperate.

June 13

  • At 6:07 a.m., an officer on patrol of Lot 40 found a university vehicle with its front and back passenger windows broken out. Further observation revealed that the driver side and passenger side mirrors were missing. With no suspects or leads, this case is administratively closed.

Oct. 18

  • At 7:20 p.m., a burglary from a motor vehicle in Lot P was reported that took place on Oct. 18 between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. when the owner returned to the vehicle. During this time, the windows were left rolled down and the owner’s jeans and money clip were taken. Jason Pruitt, 21, of Chicago was arrested for burglary from a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle. This case is cleared with an adult arrest.

Oct. 21

  • At 1:44 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Grant Towers South for a reported theft of a laptop. The owner left it unsecured in her room while using the restroom. It was gone when she returned. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
