By Northern Star staff

December is National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month.

In a DeKalb Police Department press release, the DeKalb County Violence Prevention Action Group is reminding everyone to make sure the right steps are being taken to avoid drinking and driving for the holidays and all year round.

Everyday 36 people in the U.S. die from motor vehicle crashes involving an impaired driver, according to the release.

Violence Prevention Action Group meetings are held at noon on the second Tuesday of the month at the Family Service Agency in DeKalb.
