The Rant: Iverson talking about Turkey

By Chris Dertz

Finally, Allen Iverson will have something to talk about again.

And it won’t be practice.

After agreeing in principle to a two-year deal with a Turkish basketball team, according to a Yahoo! Sports report, Iverson has cemented himself as one of sports’ most selfish figures.

There are a lot of other factors that go into this decision besides basketball: Iverson has a family.

He’s got children.

He’s thinking about moving these children to Turkey, having them learn in the Turkish school system? I’m pretty sure the only class they’ll be taking is Culture Shock 101.

But at least he’ll be doing what he wants to, right? He’ll just need to brush up on his Turkish, and get used to talking about practice as “Uygulama.”
