The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
- At 9:55 a.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police saw a car in the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway make an illegal U-turn. Police stopped the person and found their license was suspended. Peggy A. Rangel, 40, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. She was transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
- At 3:50 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway make a turn on a red light in a no turn on red intersection. When police spoke with the person they stated they didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Ricardo A. Gonzalez, 34, of DeKalb, was arrested for disobeying a traffic control, driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Gonzalez was transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released on bond.
- At 6:19 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police ran a check on a vehicle in the 100 block of South Seventh Street. It was determined the driver had a suspended license. Dominique L. Sykes, 22, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, having an unsecured child under 8 in the vehicle and obstructing identification.
- At 8:57 p.m. Friday, DeKalb Police responded to a call in the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive from a complainant stating they had been robbed at gunpoint near their car by three unknown male subjects. Complainant stated personal items and cash were taken. It was determined through a check that the complainant had an active warrant out for them in Cook County. Michael Moorehead, 50, of DeKalb, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for a probation violation. Moorehead was transported to DeKalb County Jail. There are no other suspects at this time.
