The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
At 7:56 a.m. Monday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 700 block of North First Street going 33 mph in a 20 mph school zone. Tomas Duron-Garcia, 19 of Poplar Grove, did not have a valid license on his person and was arrested. He was transported to the DeKalb Police Station and charged with not having a valid driver’s license, disobeying traffic control device and uninsured motor vehicle. Duron-Garcia was issued citations and later released on bond.
At 9:29 a.m. Monday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 1300 block of West Lincoln Highway slamming its brakes to avoid hitting a another vehicle. Police stopped Roberto Camacho, 50 of DeKalb, who was driving the other vehicle. Camacho was arrested and charged with not having a valid driver’s license, uninsured motor vehicle and making an improper turn. He was transported to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
At 2:26 p.m. Monday, DeKalb Police responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the 700 block of West Lincoln Highway. Police found Grant M. Hollingsworth, 55 of Genoa, in the parking lot of Pizza Hut. Hollingsworth was arrested and charged with having an open container, driving under the influence of alcohol and uninsured motor vehicle.
