Volleyball team appreciates support from fellow Huskies

By Letter to the Editor

On behalf of the volleyball team, I would like to thank you for your amazing support Tuesday night.

Fortunately, I’m able to say that I’ve been here since the Convo opened in 2002, and the atmosphere has never been that electric.

I want to make sure to note that the sell-out was a first in Victor E. Court.

Volleyball received crowds well over a thousand when it was played in the field house, but I’m not sure if they ever had a “sell-out” based on the number of seats available. I wanted to make sure that people were aware.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the result that we were hoping for. We’ll learn, stay together and get better. You all helped create an event that was second to none.

A big thank you goes out to all areas of the Huskie community (students, staff, faculty, student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alums and others that I’ve forgotten).

Thanks to “Huskies supporting Huskies.” Thanks for all of the marketing and the event management.

Thanks to the Red Riot, folks from RHA and anyone else on campus that I might have forgotten. I would also like to thank the DeKalb, Sycamore, surrounding towns and volleyball communities for their support as well.

I heard that, unfortunately, some were unable to get in and see the match.

Though some would say that’s a good problem to have, I’m disappointed because you made the effort to attend and for that we are thankful. I hope that it doesn’t discourage your attendance in the future.

I really hope that everyone realizes that your energy helps make our “Doghouse” in Victor E. the “Box that Rocks!” We hope that you will be able to attend our matches in the future.

Thanks again for being what we are proud to be….HUSKIES!
