NFL needs concussion help

By Mike Buda

Concussions are apparently not at the top of the priority list for the NFL at the moment.

Prior to the start of the 2010 season, Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL created a poster that would be placed in all teams’ locker rooms. The poster lists facts, symptoms and what a player should do in case of a concussion.

The NFL is in dire need of a very sarcastic clap.

But not all are as ignorant as the men at the top.

One standout moment comes to mind from this young season and it comes from the medical staff of the Dallas Cowboys.

The back of Jason Witten’s head smacked the turf in Sunday’s game with the Bears and was not allowed to enter the game even as he stubbornly stomped down the sideline like a kid who didn’t get his second bowl of ice cream that he really wanted.

Congratulations NFL on doing nothing and thank you Mr. Trainer for standing up inside of an organization that allowed Troy Aikman to continue playing after 10 concussions.
