Blog: McCartney trying to release new Beatles’ tracks

By HEATHER SKRIP

According to every major music news site, Paul McCartney is trying to release a previously unreleased track entitled “Carnival of Light.”

Will it be all it’s cracked up to be? I certainly hope so. The psychedelic, melodolic rock is something I have yet to see successfully reproduced.

So, in honor of this potentially momentous occasion, I’ve decided to list my three favorite songs by The Beatles, in no particular order.

1) “Let It Be”

This amazing, inspiring song is the focus of my tattoo for a good reason. The song’s lyrics encourage everyone to do their best and to let the past go.

2) “Strawberry Fields Forever”

This song contains what I consider to be the best lyrics ever written, with my favorite being “living is easy with eyes closed.” The rest of the song contains equally memorable lyrics, but that line stands out the most.

3) “Eleanor Rigby”

This song is one of the many underrated Beatles songs. The meaning still is unclear to me, but I like the beat and the song is beyond catchy.

If, and hopefully, this track is released, I’m sure it will not disappoint. The Beatles are not the band of our generation, but their music was powerful enough to influence people continue today.

Paul McCartney has stated that a mystery track from the Beatles will be subject to public release after 41 years.

Interesting or not?

I enjoy the Beatles so personally, I think it’d be interesting to hear something “new.”

According to Yahoo! News, “The 14 minute track was made for an electronic music festival, the only occasion the music was played in public.”

Why the Beatles decided to keep the track hidden for so many years is unknown, but McCartney said “The time has come for it to get its moment.”
