Sequels that killed the repuation of movie series

By TONY MARTIN

On the season premiere of “South Park,” the “Indiana Jones” franchise is “raped” by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Obviously, the writers feel like the “Indiana Jones” series was tarnished to a terrible extent by this sequel. So, in honor of the best television program of all time, let’s take a look back at some notable sequels that destroyed the reputation of the original series.

1) “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith”

Any movie involving Hayden Christensen is obviously a crime, especially if it is a prequel to the greatest trilogy of all time.

2) “Halloween H20” and “Halloween: Resurrection”

Not only was Michael Myers’ legacy fully intact before these terrible films were made, but Busta Rhymes was just a rapper, and there was no open door for the master of bad cinema (Rob Zombie) to come in and make a prequel.

3) “Jaws 3”

Okay. The first “Jaws” was a classic film that made people afraid of the water. The second installment, though pointless, was not bad. Yet this bomb, featuring a water theme park and a giant shark, makes “Deep Blue Sea” look like “Citizen Kane.”

4) “Blade 2” and “Blade Trinity”

There are no words for how terrible these films are. It is much harder to enjoy the original after seeing these two nightmares.
