Beer of the week: Landshark Lager

By DAN STONE

Beer of the Week: Landshark Lager

Grade: C

Landshark Lager is an American-style lager best suited as a summertime beer. The beer is smooth, very light and not filling.

The Good: Landshark has a relatively high ABV rating considering how light the brew is. The brew tastes slightly bitter but doesn’t have the unpleasant malt aftertaste frequently found in American macro-brews.

The Bad: The brew has an extremely watery mouth-feel. It’s like taste forgot to show up to the game.

Price: $8.99 for a six-pack

The Recommendation: Landshark is a satisfactory summer beer, but there are many better brews available.

The Bottom Line: For $8.99 a six-pack, you’re much better off going with Landshark’s neighbor on the shelf, the superb Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
