STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEETING [02.19.06]

By Christopher Norman

The SA will hold a Town Hall Meeting for districts 1 and 2 on March 2 in the Stevenson Multipurpose Room at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is planned as a place for students and organizations to meet and discuss things they would like to see changed.

Ambar Castillo, District 3, will no longer be an acting senator due to medical reasons.

There are now six vacancies on the senate due to resignations and removals. The deadline to apply for a senate appointment is March 26.

A prospective senator is required to be in good academic standing, have attended at least one full senate meeting prior to candidacy and turn in their application at least 48 hours before the senate meeting in which they are first presented.

The senate will evaluate applicants on a first come, first serve basis.

The senate created a Public Affairs Standing Committee. Robert Batey, District 3, said the purpose of the committee is to re-evaluate how the SA is sending out its message, form a unified voice and show students the SA represents them.
