Greeks raise money at annual Anchor Splash

Other teams acted out “Saturday Night Live” skits as well as performing lip sync routines to songs like “Space Jam.”

These acts are performed every year in the Delta Gamma Sorority’s philanthropy, Anchor Splash, which raises money for Service for Sight.

Past years have raised from $6,000 to $14,000, however, this year’s proceeds may not be as high. This could be attributed to daylight savings time and the alcohol ban, said Anchor Splash Director Megan Kolb.

Senior marketing major Dana Martorano said Anchor Splash is usually a good way to get everyone in the Greek community out together and that, “last year’s was packed.”

However, first year Anchor Splash participant Janet Simpson, a junior marketing major, said she thought a lot more people would come out for the event and many fraternities and sororities didn’t have many supporters.

First place was given to the Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Kappa Lambda team.
