Busy weekend in store for Otto’s

A reverend plays to his congregation of fans this weekend at Otto’s NiteClub, 118 E. Lincoln Highway.

On Friday, Reverend Horton Heat, Supersuckers and Murphy’s Law will perform on the main stage. The doors open up at 9 p.m. and the show starts at 10 p.m. Tickets are $17.

In the Underground, Great Influence Machine and Second Hand Poets will perform. The Underground show is free.

On Saturday and Sunday, Otto’s will host its “Schools Out For Summer Fest,” which is presented by Kmpradio Triple Dot Mas.

“I think people will be really surprised and amazed,” said Nort Johnson, Otto’s director of public relations and promotions.

Taking the stage on Saturday will be Oh My God, Harmony of Lies, Punsapaya, Steepwater Band, Triptii, Left Setter, The Fallen and Justify the Means. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m.

Saturday’s headliner, Chicago based Oh My God, have played Otto’s once before.

“The first time we were in DeKalb, I liked the experience and the crowd itself,” vocalist and bassist Billy O’Neill said.

Sunday will play host to The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, The Cougars, Pat MacDonald, Where’s Jimmy K At?, Bob Nanna lead singer of Hey Mercedes, Inspector Owl, Deconstructing Jim, El Oso and Starter Kit. Sunday doors open at 4 p.m. and the show starts at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for each day and both shows are 21 and over.
