50 Cent: The Massacre

By Lady C

50 Cent returns to the rap scene with his third album, “The Massacre.”

The name couldn’t be more precise pertaining to some of the content the lyrics convey.

He tries to find the middle ground between a hot club track, appeal for the ladies and, most of all, keeping real “thug dizzle” – as Snoop would say.

This time around, he had the chance to produce along with his partners Dr. Dre and Eminem.

To spice up the tracks, he features Olivia, Jamie Foxx, Eminem, G-G-G-Unit, Tiny Yayo and The Game.

The songs “Candyshop” and “Disco Inferno” are banging on any given hip-hop station on a regular basis – to the point of annoyance.

As far as content, he is still talking about how hot he is, how hard he is, making money, having sex and love – in his own twisted way.

Out of 21 tracks and a bonus song, 12 of them are hits. “Build You Up,” which features Jamie Foxx, says, “I built you up/ What if eva I fall down/ n’ I need you to pick me up/ Promise me you be around/ Hold me down/ I build you up.”

The record is worth having, but we have yet to see a 50 Cent with some common sense.
