Party like it’s the Stone Age

By Derek Wright

They may be the Queens of the Stone Age, but for tonight, they are the kings of Otto’s Underground.

Weekender in conjunction with Universal Records and Otto’s Niteclub and Underground, 118 E. Lincoln Highway, will celebrate this week’s release of QOTSA’s fourth full-length LP.

The event will begin at 10 p.m. in the Underground with a concluding time yet to be determined.

Otto’s will play “Lullabies To Paralyze” in its entirety.

In addition to providing the music for the evening, Universal Records will raffle off a copy of the album and give away posters and stickers that coincide with the record.

“Queens Of The Stone Age has put out some great albums,” said Scott Kawa, Universal Records lifestyle and marketing representative. “‘Lullabies to Paralyze’ does not disappoint.”

The group’s fourth album marks the first time vocalist/guitarist Josh Homme composed QOTSA songs without longtime collaborator and ex-bassist Nick Oliveri.

Oliveri left last year under a slew of circumstances stemming from preceding tours.
