“Coach Carter” Soundtrack

The various hip-hop and R&B artists on the soundtrack set out to support a film with rave reviews.

Unfortunately, this expectation didn’t hold up the end of its deal like the film.

Nelly, Ciara, Common, Chingy, Fabolous and Kanye West are some of the established artists on the soundtrack.

But most of the artists are new and trying to get on the map, so it’s hard to want the album by just looking at the track listing.

About four of the 14 tracks are actually hot ones that catch the eye. The others are fillers or redundant and don’t display significant lyrics or talented artists.

The only track released so far with a video is “Hope,” which features Twista and Faith Evans.

Taking a turn for the positive, the two team up and confront world problems and express hope that musical artists will send meaningful messages to the people.

“Wish God could protect us from the wrong/ So that all the solders that were sent over seas come home/ We will never break, though they devastate, we shall motivate/ And we gotta pray, all we got is faith.”

Save your money on this one for the film when it’s released to video.
