CAB brings metal show to Diversions Lounge today

By Laurel Marselle

NIU’s Campus Activities Board kicks off the spring semester with a high-caliber hardcore metal show at 7 p.m. today at the Holmes Student Center’s Diversions Lounge.

The show will feature a diverse range of local rock bands.

Headlining act Over and Over broke into the hardcore scene with a rough, metal-influenced sound. Its latest release, “Forever and Ever,” was released through Spook City Records in summer 2002.

Afterproject is a Chicago-area band that’s well-known in the underground scene. After joining a label under Note to Self Records and LLR Records, it released its first full-length CD, “Manner,” in March 2002.

Undo Tomorrow, which also will perform, is a Chicago-flavored hardcore metal band that is gaining credibility with every show. The band has played extensively throughout the Chicago area and has shared the stage with the cream of the Chicago metal crop.

Opening the show will be Blood Dumpster, an upcoming band within the hardcore genre.
