After the first day of the NCAA Championships, all four of NIU’s wrestlers still are alive for the second day.

“Our guys have a really good attitude, and we are wrestling really tough,” assistant coach Jason Hayes said. “To have all four of our guys still alive on the second day is good.”

Central Michigan had seven wrestlers go into the NCAA Championships, and all but one are in the consolation bracket after the first day.

“All our guys are really capable of becoming All-Americans this year,” Hayes said. “We still have two guys in the hunt for the national title; that’s just huge for us.”
