The DeKalb Police Department announced the arrest of Eric Becker, 31, of Bartlett, for Tuesday’s burglary at Fatty’s Pub and Grill.

Becker was arrested and charged with the burglary on Thursday. He was picked up in Bartlett for a warrant issued on Wednesday.

According to police reports, a burglar had broken into Fatty’s Pub and Grill, located at 1312 W. Lincoln Highway, sometime Tuesday morning. According to DeKalb police Sgt. James McDougall, Becker had not stolen anything.

Evidence recovered at Fatty’s led to the identification of Becker.

Becker, whose bond is set at $100,000, was sentenced to seven years in August of 1998 in Cook County for burglary. He had been released on parole last February.

Burglary is a Class 2 felony punishable by a fine of $25,000 and three to seven years in the penitentiary.

McDougall said Becker currently is being held at DeKalb County Jail.
