DeKALB – The NIU Police Department received a report from a student about a criminal sexual assault that occurred Thursday evening.

The student reported that the incident took place in a residence hall on the east side of campus. 

The suspect is reportedly known to the student through a social media dating app and is described as a light-skinned male with brown hair, brown eyes and approximately six-feet tall, according to a safety warning sent by NIU Police on Friday.
