The DeKalb High School Chamber Choir and Boys' A Cappella Choir were recognized for their accomplishments at recent competitions. The groups performed a few pieces for the school board and the audience.

The approval of an agreement between the school board and the city of DeKalb to arrange tax abatements was postponed until the next meeting when further information can be gathered.

The school board recognized the individuals who worked to create a student artwork display highlighting the Board of Education's mission statement. The display now hangs in the school board's meeting room.

The school board approved of Cristina Meyer, an NIU alumna, to be the principal of Lincoln Elementary School for the 2006-2007 school year.

Also approved was Kimberly Lyle to be the principal of Cortland Elementary School for the 2006-2007 school year.

The school board received an update informing members that this year's kindergarten registration went smoothly and was a success.
