Tuesday

At 3:01 a.m., a DeKalb police officer on patrol observed a 1997 Dodge leave a private lot heading eastbound in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway and not use a turn signal. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Lincoln Highway. While speaking with the driver, Luke A. Mattin, 26, of DeKalb, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Mattin was arrested for driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, driving on an expired driver’s license and failure to signal when required.
