Sierra Usmani, Former Sports Reporter
Sierra Usmani is a senior from Chicago’s North Side majoring in journalism and minoring in communications in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A former lifestyle writer for the Star, Sierra returned in spring 2026 to cover NIU sports, where she hopes to deepen her understanding of sport psychology. In her free time, Sierra enjoys attending church, going to the gym, hanging out with friends and watching movies at the theater.
