Wrestling heads to Hoosier State for Sunday showcase

DeKALB – A quiet weekend is lined up for NIU sports as hockey and wrestling are the only sports set to compete. Hockey will defend its home rink against a ranked conference foe while wrestling travels east to the University of Purdue’s campus for a trio of duals.

Friday, Nov. 18

HOCKEY

7:30 p.m. | vs. No. 15 Illinois State University

NIU hockey plays at home for the second weekend in a row. The winless Huskies will be faced with a ranked conference opponent as the Illinois State Redbirds (12-2-2, 7-3 MCH) come to town. ISU jumped from No. 20 to No. 15 in the most recent American Collegiate Hockey Association rankings.

The Huskies and Redbirds return to the ice for the second game of the series between the Midwest College Hockey rivals. NIU will once again be tasked with defending against two of the nation’s top 20 scorers, forwards Tony Campise and Mitchell Oberlag.

NIU wrestling will embark to the University of Purdue for its first road duals of the regular season. The Huskies enter with a 2-0 record from last weekend’s Huskie Duals and two of their wrestlers listed in the national rankings.
