DeKALB – Before NIU Hockey’s game against Midland University on Oct. 27, head coach Brad Stoffers left the arena and did not return.
Stoffers was also absent for the team’s game on Oct. 28, with associate coach Wayne Bower taking over the Huskies’ bench in Stoffers’ absence.
The NIU Hockey website no longer shows Stoffers as the head coach, though no official announcement has been made by the team.
Stoffers declined to comment on his absence from the weekend series against Midland.
The NIU Hockey student executive board has no comment on the matter at this time.
