NIU’s School of Theatre and Dance will perform their Fall Dance Concert, “Paquita and other repertoire,” with the first show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
This performance will take place in the O’Connell Theatre at the Stevens Building. There will be no intermission during this 75 minute recital.
Tickets can be purchased online and are free for NIU students, $12 non-NIU students, $20 for adults and $18 seniors and staff.
The show follows Paquita, a young Romani girl in Spain during the occupation by Napoleon’s army who doesn’t know she is of noble birth. She saves the life of Lucien d’Hervilly, a young French officer. Paquita uses a medallion with her father’s portrait to discover her true history and marry Lucien.
Attendees are advised to purchase tickets early as seats will fill up quickly. It is important that individuals do not bring food or drink into the theatre as it is not permitted.
