Danowski to leave NIU, adds to growing list of transfers

By Northern Star Staff

Men’s basketball sophomore guard Brandon Danowski said he will be transferring from NIU.

Danowski said he has scheduled visits with several unnamed schools and he is looking for the chance to get more playing time.

“Everyone has got their own reasons for leaving,” Danowski said. “I just want to go to a place where I can play and have a better chance to be successful and better myself.”

Danowski is joins the list of players in the past week to confirm reports of their intended departure from the program.

Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Key confirmed Monday he will be leaving the program. Top Shelf Sports reported Tuesday senior wing Anastasios Demogerontas will be transferring from the program as well.

A graduate of Loyola Academy, Danowski appeared in nine games his first year on the team and didn’t see any playing time this past season.

The Northern Star will update this story as more information becomes available.
