Week One

This summer I’m making a life choice to exercise and lose weight; I’m tired of not feeling comfortable in my own skin and hating the way clothes look on me. I’ve always been self conscious about my weight; even at my thinnest, I thought I was huge. Looking back, I realize I was happiest awhile ago when I was maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

This summer I am taking the initiative to boost my self confidence, by embarking on the journey of discovering the perfect healthy lifestyle for me. This is my personalized summer plan to becoming my healthiest and happiest self. I can’t wait for you to follow along on this journey with me

The Plan

My goal is to not only lose weight, but to also gain a more healthy lifestyle. The main focus is not to shed the pounds, but to tighten my body and feel better about myself.

Diet

This summer, I am cutting out red meat because it will improve my heart health and allow my body to absorb calcium easier. Aside from that restriction, I am going to eat whatever I want in small portions. I know myself well enough that if I tell myself I can’t have ice cream, I will crave it even more. Therefore, I’m not going to torture myself;  I’ll let myself eat what I want, as long as it’s in moderation, of course.

I am also only drinking water and milk. Cutting out soda and other sugary drinks is a choice I am making for my health because soda is obviously bad for you.

Exercise

What I’ve done so far, is going to the gym everyday and doing 20 minutes of cardio, followed by ab exercises. I’ve gone to the gym for five days straight and it was hard getting into the routine. I was sore for days, but it did not stop me from pushing through the pain.

Progress

I feel so good and energized so far, although a little discouraged because I see no results yet. I understand that it will be a few more weeks before I see progress, even though instant results are far more gratifying.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life while feeling and looking amazing!
