DeKALB | DeKalb Police Department officials arrested an Aurora man Wednesday in connection to an incident involving shots fired Oct. 8 at the 800 block of Greenbrier Road.

Michael Distasio, 19, of Aurora, is being held on $100,000 bond at Kane County Jail, 37W755 Lincoln Highway, after being charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, according to a Oct. 12 DeKalb Police Department press release.

The victims of the Oct. 8 shooting were walking from Hillcrest Drive to Greenbrier Road when a group, among which was Distasio, began to follow them. When the victims questioned the group about who they were, one of the suspects displayed a handgun and began shooting, according to the press release. The group then fled the area in a vehicle. No injuries resulted from the incident.

While investigating the incident, DeKalb Police Department officials located shell casings and obtained a vehicle description for the car used to flee the scene. Officials later identified Distasio as the individual responsible for the shooting and issued an arrest warrant Tuesday. The vehicle used to flee the scene was also seized as evidence.

DeKalb Police Department officials did not respond to request for comment.
