Bull’s Dysfunction Starts Before Season Begins

Bull’s Forward Nikola Mirotic was sent to the hospital after an altercation with teammate Bobby Portis at Tuesday’s practice. With the Bull’s season opening up on October 19, they will be shorthanded two players. As a result of the altercation, Portis has been suspended by the team for eight games.

According to the team, during the altercation Portis punched Mirotic in the face.  Mirotic is expected to miss four to six weeks with a concussion and two facial fractures, according to www.hoopsrumors.com.

“We as a team feel there’s blame on both sides. But when it comes down to it, a punch was thrown and that’s inexcusable,” said teammate Robin Lopez.

This is more bad news for a team that was already expected to struggle this season anyway. During the offseason, the Bulls traded star guard Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a relatively pedestrian return.
