Do-or-die in last week of season for women’s tennis

Women’s tennis heads into its final week of the season at sixth place in the MAC, and must defeat both Miami University and Eastern Michigan University in order to make it to the tournament.

Continuing to lead the Huskies is junior Adey Osabuohien, who is the team’s No. 1 single player. The junior is 15-3 on the year, and will team up with senior Cristina Alvarez in doubles matches for the weekend.

Head coach Tanya Gombera gave birth recently, but will still be at the helm for the team. She said she hopes the birth of her child will be a good luck charm for the Huskies heading into the weekend.

Matches will start against Miami at 1 p.m. Friday at the West Tennis Courts and end against Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. Sunday at the same location.
