Top 10 athletes | No. 8: Amanda Stepp’s consistency leads gymnastics

Senior Amanda Stepp put together another solid season for gymnastics, which resulted in her second-straight trip to the NCAA Regionals and the No. 8 spot on Sports’ list of the top 10 athletes.

Even though she missed a pair of meets at the beginning of the season, Stepp was consistently one of the Huskies’ best gymnasts throughout the season, as she hit a career-high 9.9 on vault twice and was a key part of making their floor exercise routines one of the best in the program’s history. She ended her season by scoring a 9.8 on vault at regionals.

“Nothing really flusters her,” said head coach Sam Morreale, according to a March 19 Northern Star article. “She’s not surprised by a lot of things. It’s not about always adding new things; it’s about doing what you do really well. She’s bought into that and really used that this year.”
