Monday

At 11:52 p.m., officers learned of suspicious activity taking place at 1025 Crane Drive. Following an investigation, Dionte O. Scott, 28, was charged with two failure to appear warrants and transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 7:04 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at Walgreens, 100 W. Lincoln Highway, an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did ask for and check the agent’s ID. The clerk advised he had made a mistake checking the ID. Adam T. Whitwell, 22, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.

At 5:43 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at Lucky’s Tobacco, 110 E. Hillcrest Drive, an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did ask for and check the agent’s ID. The clerk advised he had checked the year but not the whole date. Maddui Prasanth, 23, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.

At 7:16 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at Citgo, 705 E. Lincoln Highway, an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did ask for and check the agent’s ID. The clerk advised she read the date wrong. Maresol Hernandez Arriaga, 29, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.

At 6:06 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at Huskies Tobacco, 1023 W. Hillcrest Drive, an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did ask for and check the agent’s ID. The clerk advised he read the date wrong. Patrick J. Garcia, 21, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.

At 7:25 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at DeKalb Shell Mart, 308 N. Seventh St., an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did not ask the agent’s ID or age prior to the sale. Irfan Ahmed Mohammed, 23, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.

At 6:45 p.m., while conducting a compliance check at DeKalb Amoco, 920 W. Lincoln Highway, an agent working for the police department entered the business in an attempt to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The agent asked for and was sold a pack of Newports. The clerk did not ask for the agent’s ID or age prior to the sale. Diwakar Deva, 22, was issued a mini-complaint of sale of tobacco to a minor and released with a court date.
